As part of Open House Weekend, join ehk! architects in making your very own paper cut out diorama stage set of Walthamstow’s industrial past and bright future.
The ways in which we live and work in our cities are traced on their skylines. New landmarks such as the Gherkin, the Shard and the Cheese Grater, named after the shapes they create on our horizons, join the familiar landscape created by the monuments and church steeples of our past.
ehk! have designed the ‘stage set’ that forms the backdrop of SIDESHOW. In their design, they drew on the area’s industrial past and the skyline that this produced. They are fascinated by how the buildings that form the backdrop to our lives can tell a story about the way we live through time.
This workshop explores Walthamstow’s past as a place to live and work, and invites each participant to envisage its future through the construction of their very own paper cut out diorama.
