Join celebrated designer-maker Lola Lely for a workshop to create a hanging sound sculpture, exploring the properties of everyday materials to generate sound and movement. Using an assortment of interesting materials, Lola will guide you in creating a beautiful sculptural object. Learn how to combine shape, texture and colour to create a finished mobile that will respond to its environment. At the end of the session you will have a unique sound sculpture mobile to take away with you, either to display in your own home or give as a gift.
Lola Lely is an artist, designer and maker based in Walthamstow, East London. She was born in Hanoi, Vietnam but grew up in London and Kent. She practices craft in fresh and unexpected ways by linking contemporary practices and technology with age-old techniques. Lola holds a Masters in Design Products from the Royal College of Art. Her work has been exhibited internationally including, the Victoria & Albert museum, Royal Academy of Arts, Design Museum in London and at Art Basel in Switzerland.
